Choosing my favorite character from Days of Our Lives depends on the mood I’m in on any given day. Some days, when I’m feeling sneaky or particularly feisty, I like Sammi. She always knows how to get into trouble, and makes the kinds of decisions that I myself have been known to make. Of course, I may never ruin as many great relationships as she has, but I’ve put significant dents in a few hearts during my twenty-seven years. Sammi is my go-to girl when I am not liking someone in my own life, because I like to watch her and daydream about what I would love to do to someone but would never have the courage (if that’s what you would call what Sammi uses) to follow through with.

Of course, I’m only in that type of mood occasionally. Normally, I’m fairly complacent but have a certain amount of determination to complete what I need to do in a certain way. Having what it takes and loving to watch a woman who is as fiercely determined to make her family work makes Hope my normal favorite character. Hope never gives up, even when things look bleak. Through death, kidnapping, rebirth, new life, more death, home-wreckers, heartbreakers, cheaters, and more, she keeps her cool and just does what she does best. She keeps her family going and finds a way to get the job done. She can be cool and collected or hot and fiery, depending on the situation. Add beautiful to the resume and you have an accurate description of Hope on any given day, no matter what life brings her way with children, husband, cousins, and more.

No one is always pleasant or always likes the most pleasant character. At times, Kate is my favorite character. The arch-nemesis of Sammi normally, she is treacherous but glamorous, sneaky and smart while underhanded and vindictive. She is a woman’s woman, doing what most of us will never do at any point during our lifetimes for one reason or another. She can hate with a fierce passion or love with the same amount of loyalty. Her children and grandchildren are her primary focus, and she will do anything to make sure they stay happy in what she believes is the best fashion. Kate is amazingly evil, rarely getting caught and as slippery as a bar of soap.

However, that is not to say that I’m not a typical woman. I love the many hunks on Days, and, being a member of the younger generation of Days fans, am addicted the the muscles, tans, and gorgeous smiles of Shawn, Brady, Phillip, Austin, Brandon, and their respective pals. I was not happy when my favorite hunk, Brandon left the show, and only watch on occasion now because I tend to miss him too much and get cranky with Sammi and Lexi for ruining his soap-life. I’m almost never happy with Shawn’s decisions, and get annoyed with Austin being so easily manipulated, but am rarely disappointed in Brady Black. He’s the one hunk who always does what I think he should do, especially where women are concerned. With the introduction of Max, EJ, and similar new hunks, I was thrilled to see some hunky villains. Adding more to this lineup will only make Days more desirable for any hot-blooded female.

This list would not be complete without saying that Stefano will probably always be my overall favorite character. I love hating him with a passion, and somehow seem to cheer for him and his plans to succeed on occasion, if for no other reason than to shake things up for the cast and crew of Salem. Stefano’s rise, fall, rise, and fall again character never completely dies, and will always be the most hated but loved character on Days, no matter who else comes and goes.
